Per an article written by the Miami Herald yesterday, in Tuesday's primary election more than 70% of Florida voters approved solar tax breaks to incentivize Florida businesses to go solar.

The new Florida Constitution amendment will exempt solar energy systems on businesses and industrial properties from property taxes for 20 years. The exemption also covers Florida's tangible personal property tax.

Tax breaks are one of the largest economic drivers for commercial solar energy and this new amendment will further encourage Florida businesses to take advantage of solar's valuable economic and environmental benefits.
